Rucci & AzChike Party in the Park for New "Function in the Hood" Video
A collaborative cut off Rucci’s ‘Tako’s Son’ LP.
Continuing to support his debut studio album Tako’s Son, Rucci is revisiting the EMPIRE-promoted LP for his latest music video. Specifically, the fast-rising West Coast emcee is teaming up with CbFour.Co and reconnecting with AzChike for a visual in support of their Tako’s Son collaboration “Function in the Hood.” For their new vignette, Rucci and AzChike head to a park in Inglewood, ready to BBQ and sip on enough Hennessy and Pepsi to get them drunk before the sun sets.
“The North side of Inglewood is basically controlled by my dad and it’s blossoming right now,” Rucci previously told us when discussing the themes of his Tako’s Son project. “It’s all under my dad, we’re all Tako’s Son. He made sure everyone had a place to stay, he didn’t raise any of us to focus on materialistic shit, it was about loyalty.”
“The music I’m making now, I’m talking shit but I’m talking it in a calmer way — like RBL Posse-type shit mixed with some Bone Thugs shit, but then tapping in to my Hispanic side,” Rucci added in a separate interview, sharing some insight into the studio sessions that birthed his recent album.
You can take a look at Rucci and AzChike’s new music video for “Function in the Hood” above. Rucci and AzChike previously came together for a clip in support of their AzSwaye-assisted For My Dawgz offering “Ain’t Shit.”
Towards the end of last month, Rucci linked up with Mr. Real Movie for music video in support of another Tako’s Son standout, “I Ain’t Gon Lie.”
