M83 Share First 'Junk' Single, "Do It, Try It"
First new M83 single in over five years.
It looks like the promotional blitz for M83’s newly-announced next studio album is in full swing. Directly after official news of M83’s new album emerged earlier today, the LP’s first single has surfaced. Entitled “Do It, Try It,” the track serves our first taste of what’s to come when Junk arrives next month. The song is also M83’s first major record in over five years. Along with this release, M83 architect Anthony Gonzalez has announced the tracklisting for Junk which will include 15 new songs including today’s effort. You can stream the new M83 single above and read M83’s short statement about the new LP and its title below. Junk will be out on April 8.
Anything we create today is going to end up being space junk at one point anyway, and I find it really fascinating and scary at the same time – beautiful too in a way. I have this image of pieces of humanity floating in space, lost forever. It also means that nowadays everything goes so fast and everybody is kind of throwing away art in a certain manner. People will listen to an album for instance and just pick a track they like to put on a playlist. They’re not going to take the time to listen to an album anymore because they have to jump on the next thing.
