Following up on the trailer released in November, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story is back with a new clip featuring cast and crew explaining the weight of the source material and focus of the show.

The two-and-a-half minute video offers an extended glimpse at the characters and conflicts, with cameos from Edgar Ramirez and Penelope Cruz‘s Gianni and Donatella Versace, Darren Criss’s Andrew Cunanan and Ricky Martin’s Antonio D’Amico. Interviews with the cast members expound upon the story and give weight to the real-world scenarios, including “the largest failed manhunt in US history.” Not much is given away that isn’t already known about the show, but trailer offers more reasons for fans to get excited about the forthcoming series.

Check out the clip above and look for the series’ premiere January 17 on FX and January 12 for FX+ subscribers. Meanwhile, the forthcoming Mom and Dad stars Nicolas Cage attempting to murder his kids as he sings “The Hokey Pokey”.
