Ian Connor, A$AP Bari and Playboi Carti Talk Friendship, VLONE and A$AP Rocky in Old 88rising Interview
Brotherhood before the brawl.
88rising just released a video interview with Ian Connor, A$AP Bari and Playboi Carti that took place sometime in March of 2016. This of course, was before the infamous scuffle that happened in front of collette in late June between Ian Connor, A$AP Bari and Theophilus London. In the clip, we see all three talking about different topics — the first thing they discuss is the theme of family and brotherhood. Bari opens with, “It’s nothing without a family if the family don’t eat together. We all sit at the table. We fight, we throw food at each other, we cut for each other. It’s like that. It’s a brotherhood.”
Additionally, Ian Connor also talks about how he met Playboi Carti, whose fashion he admires. He even reveals that he didn’t know Carti was a rapper until A$AP Bari put him on his music. Carti also divulges his first impressions of Ian, describing him simply as the “cool kid.” In terms of where A$AP Rocky fits into their team, Bari and Ian describes the rapper as their big brother. “That’s the platform right there. He set it up to where he don’t necessarily feed us. We’ve seen Rocky seen with millions in his pocket while me and Bari were broke. He set it up where he teaches us how to cook, now we eat. We straight. Me and my brothers straight,” Ian says. When asked about VLONE, Ian proudly points to the “V” tattoo on his forehead, while Playboi Carti flaunts his logo-branded tee. Bari then describes how long he has been working with the brand and spending time between Hong Kong and Japan.
It’s quite surreal to see Ian Connor and A$AP Bari during friendlier times. It’s obvious things have changed between the two ever since the fight heard around the rap and fashion world. Now, we can only let time tell if wounds will eventually heal the animosity between the two. Watch the video above and let us know your thoughts.
