The legendary tattooist talks about absolution and regret.
Mark Mahoney is probably one of the most iconic tattoo artists, with many considering him a living legend. The man has tattooed some of the biggest names, from Tupac, David Beckham and The Notorious B.I.G. Additionally, Lana Del Rey considers him a muse. But his influence has reached far beyond the sphere of celebrities, as Mahoney is the owner and founder of the famous Shamrock Social Club on LA’s Sunset Boulevard, and recently turned actor. Check out the ethereal mini-documentary above, and head over to NOWNESS for the entire article.
“People consider him a legend in the tattoo world, but his fame goes beyond that of the needle,” says Olita of Mahoney, whose next project sees him working alongside Johnny Depp in Boston gangster flick Black Mass. “Mark is a kind soul. His persona is surrounded by an air of mystery. When I look at him I always have the impression that he knows more than he is willing to tell, and this is what makes him so elegant and solid.”
