With sustainable homes becoming the trend in a society increasingly concerned with environmental conservation, Dutch firm i29 interior architects has executed a beautiful project that exists in the balance of form and function. Comfortably situated in Bloemendaal – one of the wealthiest areas in the Netherlands – home 09 was designed by Paul de Reuter for a private client. The interior structure of the two-story home was created to echo the surrounding green landscape and, as such, uses pine as a principal motif throughout. The house uses large glass panels to let natural light bounce off of the white walls and concrete floors, while a minimal use of excess materials and space create an open, organic feel.
