Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Child
Whether it be from home, school, a job, or any situation that ties us down, we’ve all fantasized
Whether it be from home, school, a job, or any situation that ties us down, we’ve all fantasized about letting it all go and running away. And who’s to say that there’s an age cap on that feeling? When you’re in your late ’80s or ’90s lying in a hospital bed, chances are you’ll have daydreams of hightailing it out of there without the consent of your doctor. In the music video for “Child,” Los Angeles-based 10-piece Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros turn that dream into a reality. As he lays in despair with an IV in his arm, an elderly man is greeted by a young girl who takes him away to enjoy the world for one last time. It’s a fairly literal interpretation of the song itself, but the touching visuals only enhance the soothing music. There’s always a way out.
