MinuSkull, known for their artistic achievements in the world of high fidelity sound products, have just released a new addition to their lineup of creative designs. Designed by the team made up of Olivier Kuntzel and Florence Olivier, the speakers are dedicated to the re-imagination of how high quality audiophile equipment should look. Handcrafted in France, the speakers have the ability to work independently or as a unit, whereas five of them in unison can also be used to a create a MinuSkull surround sound system. Technically, they contain two broadband Fostex Fe-83 speakers with a membrane made out banana leaf pulp (the eyes), a mini subwoofer for a large and natural restitution, and a tailor-made speaker (made in France), which lies underneath the skull. A tailor-made Mosfet amplifier allows a transparent and dynamic sound without using an additional amplifier. As to be expected, the speakers have the capability to be connected to iPods and iPads alike. Above all, what Kunztel + Deygas like most about their creation is “it’s a sophisticated and high performance object, and most of all, to our own standards, it has a soul.” For the walnut version, the price is set at €1500 EUR (approx. $2025 USD) for worldwide, non EU customers, and €1750 EUR (approx. $2360 USD) for the black and white set.
