Legendary British graphic designer Peter Saville’s career emerged during his role as art director of Factory Records, (co-founded with the late Tony Wilson and Alan Erasmus) from 1978-1991. He is best known for his iconic album and poster art for bands such as New Order and Joy Division, and is also credited for changing the way people look at album art and music packaging, in turn changing the common perception of visual and pop culture. Most recently, Saville completed the cover art for British synthpop band OMD’s (Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark) upcoming record “History of Modern”. The dynamic and bold geometric cover art relates to the previous album covers that Saville collaborated on with the band. This is OMD’s first album since 1996 and is a retrospective of the band’s work.
