Late last month, we invited readers to participate in the Levi’s® x HYPEBEAST #501 Style Interpretation Project, part of our celebration of the iconic blue jean’s 140th birthday. It’s always the individual that makes a good pair of denim truly special and as such, we asked readers to interpret 501® style in their own unique way. And, while we received countless entries and diverse takes on the original blue jean, we selected Brett Barron Calvert’s Western-inspired, double-denim ensemble as our clear favorite.
As the winner of this contest, Brett was flown to SXSW, where he enjoyed an all-expenses paid trip to Austin and was given access to all concerts and music events at the festival. Perhaps the most inspirational and universal of art forms, music has been influencing the fashion world for decades and Levi’s® is a proud supporter of artists and festivals worldwide. And, as one of the largest and most prestigious music festivals in the country, SXSW presented a unique opportunity to capture the intersection of music and fashion. We asked Brett to keep an eye on Austin’s streets for the best 501® style at SXSW, the result of which is seen in this exclusive photoshoot.
