First, Siri captured the hearts of a myriad bored middle class 20-somethings with a helpful, unwaveringly polite expansion on phone interaction. On a similar note, Google‘s Art, Copy & Code follows this idea with their latest experiment: the Talking Shoe. Developed in conjunction with interactive design studio YesYesNo and artist Zach Lieberman, the smart adidas sneaker communicates with its wearer depending on the situation, sending snarky though motivational comments to a built-in sound box or to Google+ for real-time social sharing. Premiered at this year’s SXSW, the possibilities of the shoe seem endless, and its development continues to build on the wearable technology movement so prevalent in 2013.
