Celebrating the launch of their book, “Stories of Sole”, Vans threw a kick-back event this past Thursday, paying tribute to the many icons that have built the brand since its inception in 1966. The book, authored by Doug Palladini, follows the endless projects from Vans Off The Wall campaigns throughout the past few decades. Aside from a closer look into collaborative projects and vintage offerings, the book features an awesome forward by Steve Van Doren (son of founder Paul Van Doren) and an insightful look into Vans legendary design aesthetics. The event, taking the form of a block party, offered a load of different staple Southern California cuisine, special Off The Wall art gallery, mini ramp showcase, several live band performances, and even a custom Vans Van done up by West Coast Customs. The legendary brand has tons more in store for this year, but this event definitely set the bar high, showcasing the always cool California spirit, in its simplest form. We’d like to give a big thank you as well, to the Vans team for the love and hospitality.
