While some might view Burberry as the brand known for its checks pattern and its trench coats, English fashion designer Christopher Bailey has undoubtedly taken the brand beyond that as seen in this year’s Burberry Prorsum Men’s Ready-to-Wear Fall 2009 Collection. According to WWD:

“I feel like it was a moment to go back to who we are, and to the real icons of the company. It feels like the right moment,” Bailey said after the show. The journey began with the house’s iconic check, which Bailey exploded into an oversized version, using it on scarves, shirts and hefty peacoats, which were shown over tapered, pinstripe trousers. Updated Fair Isle sweaters, rumpled tuxedo shirts and boiled velvet suits looked both rich – and lived-in. What Bailey does best is deliver disheveled elegance, and in this collection he did it in spades – proving that the road home is sometimes the best route to take.

Of all the Fall 2009 Ready-to-wear collections shown thus far, Burberry Prorsum’s collection definitely stands out in our opinion. Below are some looks from that runway show that we enjoyed.
