Joel Schumacher 解釋當年《Batman Forever》謎語人結局的暗示
若當時他的構思能實現，《自殺特攻隊：Suicide Squad》的電影或早已出現！
縱然 Joel Schumacher 自己也道歉了，但在質疑其 1997 年作品《Batman & Robin》的同時，也別忘記他 1995 年的《Batman Forever》取得的成功，近日他解釋了當年《Batman Forever》中反派角色謎語人結局安排的暗示。
I always wanted to do a whole Arkham movie, and did a scene at the end of Batman Forever when Jim is in a straitjacket and Nicole comes to see him. And it was just a nod to back to Arkham Asylum which I love, and I thought it would be fun to put the other villains up there.
Joel Schumacher 在 THR 的採訪中，透露他當年拍攝《Batman Forever》的時候，其實也正在計劃拍攝一套以 Arkham Asylum 為主題的電影，而 Arkham Asylum 就是 Jim Carrey 在《Batman Forever》中飾演的謎語人，最後被送往囚禁的精神病院兼監獄，這結局安排本來正正是 Joel Schumacher 的一個鋪陳。漫畫中 Arkham Asylum 位於《Batman》故事的背景地點 Gotham City，小丑 Joker、雙面人、急凍人、毒藤女等許多著名反派角色，也曾被關在這裡。
言下之意，Joel Schumacher 原本是希望拍攝一個集結不同經典反派的電影故事，可惜最後沒有成事。若果當時他的構思能實現，類似《自殺特攻隊：Suicide Squad》的電影可能早已出現。
