At 49, California native Mark Gonzalez is often introduced as one of the early pioneers of street skating and New York City’s “downtown cool.” Transworld took it as far as naming him the “Most Influential Skateboarder of All Time” in 2011. Nowadays he’s on his board a lot less, spending most of his time painting, writing poetry, designing apparel for the likes of Supreme and adidas, and being what we assume as the best dad ever. Don’t get it twisted though, he still rips, traveling the world with the youngest of guns in skateboarding. So while Gonz is still very much in the midst of leaving his indelible mark on this world, his influence will undoubtedly live on through the next-generation of skaters.
