With men’s and women’s lines, his MAD market releases, NikeLab Gyakusou and the shepherd diffusion label, Jun Takahashi is no doubt one of the godfathers of streetwear. Frankly, it’s hard to understand just how Jun Takahashi manages to release collection after collection of punk and subculture-tinged garments for his UNDERCOVER label with so much going on. Hot on the heels of UNDERCOVER’s 25th anniversary, Takahashi showed no signs of slowing down, collaborating with other notable labels and presenting his seasonal collections at Paris Fashion Week. Most recently Takahashi took part in Amazon’s reinvigorated Tokyo Fashion Week event, bringing his storied label back to its humble beginnings at the once obscure presentation.
