Achievement
Aubrey Graham aka Drake opened the year breaking records as his ‘Summer Sixteen’ Tour became the highest grossing hip-hop tour of all time. He also became the first artist ever to remain on the Billboard Hot 100 for 430 weeks and his 157 appearances at the number 1 spot are the most all-time for a solo artist. Drizzy and OVO collabed with Jordan on a special capsule and pair of Air Jordan 12s in February when his hometown of Toronto played host to the NBA All-Star Game. Later in March, Drake dropped his More Life playlist which played a role in helping him become the first-ever artist to reach 10 billion Spotify streams in addition to a record-setting 13 awards at the Billboard Music Awards. Drake hosted the first-ever NBA Awards show and released a single, “Signs,” for the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2018 show. Then, at the eighth annual OVO Fest in Toronto, he promised his city and fans that a new album was in the works. If all that record-breaking music industry flow wasn’t enough, Drake opened OVO stores in New York and Toronto and announced one for London, invested in MatchaBar and started his own whiskey brand, Virginia Black.
