In the Booth With StudioTime.io & Danny Seth
Danny Seth teams up with the Airbnb for recording studios.
Being a professional (or sometimes even an amateur) in the music industry requires a great amount of traveling. Like ideas and styles that shape music, musicians are expected to come and go; remaining stagnant has never been part of the procedure for a successful, relevant musician. Unfortunately, music studios and its hundreds of thousands (and sometimes millions) of dollars in equipment are not as mobile, and because of that, it can be incredibly difficult for artists to professionally record on the go.
Over half a year ago, Michael Williams launched an initiative to tackle this issue. Called StudioTime.io, it’s best described as an Airbnb for recording studios. The site compiles details on available studios and their resources and pricing in an easy-to-access domain. Whether you are an emerging, amateur artist or a well-developed professional, access to music-making has never been more simple and convenient. With the platform, getting a song or project recorded while on the go is a much easier process to execute.
We met up with Michael and he provided an in-depth presentation of StudioTime.io’s services, as well as with Danny Seth, close friend of the founder and campaign ambassador for this dynamic brand. The UK rapper feels that the idea is pertinent because he, along with some of his musician friends, share the struggle with not being able to professionally record on the road. He reveals that several tracks from his debut album Perception were recorded with the assistance of this service, and found it particularly useful especially when he had to add last-minute details or fixes.
