The New Coach x Rodarte Collab Is a Cheeky Tribute to Coach's Famous Bags

Coach has gone through many phases of rebranding, but one thing that the New York-based luxury label has been always known for is its signature bags. Recently, Coach teamed up with Rodarte for a collaborative collection that includes T-shirts and sweaters featuring a print of lo-fi vintage photographs of Coach’s famous leather handbags. Underneath each photo is the phrase “This is a Coach Bag.” accompanied by an old-school ’70s print ad description beneath. Upon closer inspection, one will see a subtle change of the name Coach to Rodarte on the bag tags in the images, implying a clever surrealist statement much like Magritte’s “This is not a pipe” painting.
