The New 'Lights Out' Trailer Shows Us What Really Happens in the Dark

James Wan of Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring fame, is back at it again with a new film to add to his growing list of horror movie creations with Lights Out. However, this time around, Wan is taking producer credits as he gives up-and-coming director, David F. Sandberg, full control. The movie builds upon the short film Sandberg created about three years ago of the same name. That small project actually went viral and won the Who’s There: A Horror Film Challenge contest, garnering the budding director some much deserved looks in the industry.

This newly released trailer gives us a few more tidbits of about the movie. Basically, an unexplained entity is haunting a family and Rebecca, the protagonist played by Teresa Palmer, must discover the truth in order to save their lives.

Lights Out will open on July 22.
