Donald Glover Will Play Young Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo 'Star Wars' Standalone Movie
Will we see how the duo’s bromance unfolds?

The official Star Wars website just announced that Lucasfilm has casted the multi-talented actor/rapper, Donald Glover to play the young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming Han Solo Star Wars standalone movie. The rumors have been swirling around the web and now we get full confirmation from the studio. While the film is still yet to be titled, the higher-ups involved felt that the Atlanta star will make a great complement to actor Alden Ehrenreich, who was casted as young Han Solo.
As for the film, it will be exciting to witness how Lando becomes the figure that we know he is in the Star Wars universe — as explained by the official site, “this new film depicts Lando in his formative years as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld — years before the events involving Han, Leia, and Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back and his rise to Rebel hero in Return of the Jedi.” Glover is on a hot streak with his FX show Atlanta making a strong buzz at the moment. With his impressive acting range, it will be interesting to see what he will bring to the table with the Lando character.
The untitled Han Solo film has an expected release for 2018.
