A new Kickstarter campaign looks to capture the expressive nature and tactility of acoustic drums, and transfer them onto an electronic platform with a new product called Sensory Percussion. Founded by brothers Tlacael & Tenoch Esparza, Sunhouse looked to translate the slight nuances that are difficult to capture on digital instruments and bridge them with this product. Sensory Percussion can assign sounds to different parts of a drumhead or with different drum strokes, seamlessly blend samples, apply effects to different parts of the drum and multiple drums, and use smart cross-talk cancellation to maintain high sensitivity in the presence of noise bleeding and distortion. Take a look at an introductory video to the device above, and visit its Kickstarter page for more information.
