Flying Lotus, Pharrell & Scott Vener Discuss the State of Hip-Hop

On the latest episode of OTHERtone, Pharrell and Scott Vener invited Flying Lotus on the show. Yesterday, they previewed the conversation with a clip showing the three talking about the state of hip-hop and now, the full clip (no pun intended) has surfaced. While Vener seems uncertain whether or not hip-hop is at a good place lyrically, Flying Lotus and Pharrell both feel like it is. Vener states that hip-hop might be dominated by less skilled artists but Pharrell rebuts that it’s the young people who shape the new sound. Watch the clip above.
