Born January 5, 1941 in Bunkyō, Tokyo, Japan, the director has garnered a loyal following with his persistent themes and films that often featured pacifist and environmentalist leanings. To celebrate Miyazaki’s birthday and career that has spanned over five decades check out the Studio Ghibli compilation video above.
