Adam West & Burt Ward Are Back as Batman & Robin in 'Return of The Caped Crusaders'
Holy Batman movie trailer, Batman!
One of the overwhelming responses to this summer’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice was that the movie just wasn’t any fun. This summer’s adaptation of Alan Moore’s iconic The Killing Joke didn’t exactly right that wrong, instead opting for an R-rating and an even darker plot line than the comic — one made especially problematic by its portrayal of Batgirl. Perhaps as a response to both of those films, DC is taking fans back to the camp of the 1960s TV series with Return of The Caped Crusaders. Essentially an animated reimagining of the old ABC television series (and its 1966 spin-off film), the movie not only brings back Adam West and Burt Ward as Batman and Robin, but Julie Newmar reprises her role as Catwoman, too, as The Dark Knight and Boy Wonder square off against an “unholy alliance” of Penguin, The Joker, The Riddler and Catwoman.
Batman: Return of The Caped Crusaders drops digitally on October 11 before hitting Blu-ray and DVD November 1.
