It wouldn’t be practical or cost-effective to have a sound system in every room of your home, but if your light bulbs could play music, you’d be killing two birds with one stone, and Sony Japan has done just that. Their latest creation involves 9W LED light bulb, integrated with a built-in Bluetooth speaker. The light bulb installs the same way a standard bulb would, and pairs via Bluetooth with an iOS or Android app. From the app, users can also control the audio output of the bulb, including the EQ settings, volume and brightness of the bulb, not to mention there’s also a sleep function. The speaker bulb will be available in Japan from on May 23 for approximately $24,000 yen (approximately $200 USD). The video above provides a little more insight on its use in case you were wondering.
