There is no doubt that views for the Robin Williams-starring film Hook skyrocketed upon his untimely death. As many of us watched it, now as an adult, its fairytale storyline resonated within us more so than ever before. Hoping to take advantage of this newfound appreciation among Hook‘s generation as well as attract the younger audience of today, Warner Bros. Pictures plans to release the remake Pan next summer, and today we premiere its first trailer. This film approaches Scottish novelist and playwright J. M. Barrie’s famous character much differently than past iterations have as it tells the origins of Peter Pan. Directed by Joe Wright (Atonement and Pride & Prejudice), the movie stars Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, and the young Levi Miller as Peter. Pan is expected to hit select theaters on July 17, 2015.
