Ghostface Killah is more than aware of this fact as he is busy in the recording studio working on new material for his musical family as well as his upcoming solo effort, tentatively titled The Wally Era. The esteemed emcee shared with MTV that his latest body of work could also land on the next Wu-Tang Clan album. And it looks like the Abbot approves:
“While I was doin’ my Supreme Clientele shit, the second one, The Wally Era, I was doin’ joints for the next Wu album [...]
I believe in him [RZA] because if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be standing here today, regardless of what,” Ghost said. “He still got this same hungry for this Wu sh–. “He knows what it takes to go ahead and get there. He done studied the game now,” “
Last month, RZA said he wanted to put the band back together to mark the 20th anniversary of their critically acclaimed debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). The producer-turned-director admitted they worked best, in his opinion, when the rest of the group allowed him to be “a dictator.”
“[Wu-Tang Forever was] the first democratic album. And then after that, it kept getting more and more – “Well, it’s your album, what do you want to do? You want to hire P Diddy? Whatever you want to do, help yourself. It’s your [thing],’.”
