Danger Mouse and Italian composer Daniele Luppi know how to enhance the experience of their exceptional Rome offering. Releasing its first visual “3 Dreams of Black,” the duo has joined forces with Google and director Chris Milk. The clip is an interactive 3D complement to the Rome track “Black” featuring Norah Jones. Due to the applied WebGL technology, the 3D video is navigable and offers the users create their own characters.
The director – who also created Arcade Fire’s interactive “The Wilderness Downtown” – opened up on the complexity of his works in an interview with Evolver.
“I have a philosophy about telling stories through multiple channels, and how we as humans are far-more-sophisticated media-consuming beings than we were 10 years ago. We can actually track these stories on multiple platforms for longer periods of time… There are a lot of ‘easter eggs’ and hidden things, and at the end of it… there’s a lot to explore. It may seem at first like it’s just one three-and-a-half-minute-long piece, but if you keep looking and going further, there’s no shortage of rabbit holes to go down.”
