Perhaps more than anything, Luke Meier was this year’s biggest example of the convergence of streetwear and fashion as the two have become one in the same. Earlier this year, Luke and his wife Lucie were named co-creative directors of German minimalist fashion brand Jil Sander. While Lucie’s experience at Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga and Dior naturally translated into her role at Jil Sander, Luke Meier’s time at Supreme and his own brand OAMC made him a left field choice. Although a surprising move, the duo’s first collection was received incredibly well by pundits, who praised the duo for bringing Jil Sander back to the brand’s signature minimalism.
