Handsome Cycles Creates "Art Bikes" For Minneapolis Institute of Art
The Minneapolis Institute of Art celebrates a century with bikes inspired by its permanent collection.
Minneapolis is renowned for being one of the most bike-friendly cities in the world, and as such, cycling culture runs deep through the city’s cultural bloodline. Sensibly then, the Minneapolis Institute of Art turned to bicycles as its canvas to celebrate its centennial. Recruiting the help of local workshop Handsome Cycles alongside graphic art firms, the parties partnered to create three one-off cycles inspired by MIA’s most famous hanging pieces: works by Claude Monet and Frank Stella, as well as a vintage Tatra T87 sedan. Check out the video above to get a feel for the bikes, which are available for sale on Handsome Cycles’ website.
