Greek-American designer Pelagia Kolotouros has taken over the reins at Lacoste, succeeding Louise Trotter after closing her five-year tenure. While Lacoste initially stated that it would not replace Trotter as Creative Director, the brand quickly changed its course by appointing Kolotouros to lead it into a new era.

Kolotouros presented her vision for Lacoste at Paris Fashion Week, honoring the brand’s on-court legacy with an energized runway show. The designer, who grew her career at adidas and The North Face, goes back in time to reveal her Fall/Winter 2024 “Victory of 1927” range on the courts of Roland Garros Stadium.

She recalls René Lacoste’s dynamic success in becoming the Davis Cup victor nearly a century ago. The prestigious championship guided Kolotouros into Lacoste’s archives, putting modern spins on French tennis uniforms. Powerful silhouettes ignite the collection with athletic backbones, seeing Lacoste’s celebrated crocodile logo stamped on slim-cut suiting and artistically painted on wool overcoats.

The brand’s 1933 polo shirts are reinterpreted in fleece textiles, paired with pleated skirts and elongated belts. Technical trench coats and nylon ensembles are packed with movement, ushered in by ultra-baggy tracksuits and racket-printed tees. Archival “Chemise Lacoste” labels decorate graphic-heavy knitwear and victorious blazers, with the brand’s signature white and green tones outfitting robust puffer coats and off-shoulder dresses. Dated gametime photographs bring lightweight garments to life with a triumphant mindset, completing the collection with silver-trimmed garbs and a modern edge.
