Chet Lo is a knitwear sovereign. The Asian-American designer has become synonymous with spiked textures that bulge with sharpness, making a name for himself under Lulu Kennedy‘s Fast East incubator. Since his departure, Lo has proven he is ahead of his time, experimenting with uneasy design methods that defy traditional remedies. The designer returned to his customary slot on the London Fashion Week schedule for Fall/Winter 2024, unearthing his army of defiant soldiers.

Qin Shi Huang’s Terracotta Army inspired the collection, seeing Lo recall his youth admiring the preserved statues. The Terracotta Army takes on a new life for FW24, setting forth a new generation of battle-ready warriors. The runway thumped to the beat of banging drums that unlocked a revolutionary kingdom, beginning with dismembered snakeskin uniforms. His spiked textiles descended from relaxed loungewear and asymmetrical leather gear, while browns turned to greens across crewneck tops with removable leather kilts.

Metal hoops turned into suits of armor, reinterpreting the protective headgear worn by the Qin dynasty with liquified ornaments. The shimmering looks chimed in movement and called troopers into combat, marching to their stations in Lo’s throned Charles & Keith footwear collaboration.
