Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani founded his eponymous label in 1960, revolutionizing chic womenswear for decades to come. The 91-year-old designer is a certified legend, being honored at the British Fashion Council‘s 2023 Fashion Awards.

The ceremony has observed top talent since 1989, revealing an extensive list of nominees for 2023, including Grace Wales Bonner, Kim Jones, Maximilian Davis, and more. This year, the British Fashion Council will honor Mr. Valentino Garavani, who will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award. His success in the industry will be celebrated at the Royal Albert Hall, recalling his contributions to purpose-led fashion, culture, and entertainment.

Previous recipients of the Outstanding Achievement Award are Giorgio Armani, Miuccia Prada, Ralph Lauren, and Karl Lagerfeld, highlighting those who have shaped the global fashion industry in more ways than one.

Speaking on the award, Mr. Valentino Garavani says:

“It is a tremendous honor to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award. Throughout the years, I have been fortunate to witness the transformative power of fashion, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities I have had. To be honored in London, one of my most beloved cities, makes this momentous occasion even more special. I am truly humbled, and I hope to continue to inspire future generations of designers to challenge conventional norms and wholeheartedly embrace innovation, beauty, and glamour.”

The 2023 Fashion Awards will take place on December 4 at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Purchase your tickets here.
