GUCCIMAZE, also known as Yuta Kawaguchi, is the artist/graphic-designer creating some of today’s most jaw-dropping typography, logo art and 3-D concepts. He’s done visual work with big-name musicians like Fetty Wap, Post Malone, Nicki Minaj and Flying Lotus. Global brands such as adidas and Red Bull have also commissioned the Japanese creative for some art direction as well.

GUCCIMAZE’s aesthetic is marked by his use of metallic effects, neon hues, graffiti lettering and futuristic collages. His signature sci-fi-meets-graffiti style has been highly-sought after and have led to some big collaborations just this year. 2020 was evidence of GUCCIMAZE’s rise in the fashion and art world. He was first tapped by avant-garde brand Diet Butcher Slim Skin for graphic works on apparel. A collaboration with fledgling streetwear label Youth of Paris soon followed with the artist’s flaming typography, graffiti logos and alien graphics making it to hoodies, tees and hats. By summer, GUCCIMAZE finally presented his first solo exhibition at Tokyo’s Diesel Art Gallery. Titled “Maze,” the show explored the realms of 3-D art with the help of sculptor Kotaro Yamada and illustrator Takuya Kamioka. The show was met with critical acclaim and should be a launching point for more gallery exhibitions and collaborative work in the future for GUCCIMAZE.
