Carlo Rivetti remains the creative director and CEO of Stone Island. A veteran of the sportswear industry with deep-rooted familial ties in fashion, Rivetti entered what later would have been called Sportswear Company in 1983 first as its part-owner and gained full ownership of the company in 1993, replacing Paul Harvey as the label’s creative director in 2008. Rivetti has been key to the line’s Shadow Project series which continues to be praised by functional fashion fans today. Collaborations alongside powerhouses like Nike and Supreme has been made possible by the Italian creative as well. 2018 saw Stone Island’s global reputation grow which can be attributed to its ever-evolving style, growing network of sub-brands and forward-thinking approach to garment construction.
