2017 has been another year full of grand collaborations for Fukushima native, Junya Watanabe. The once COMME des GARÇONS apprentice has gone from strength to strength since the early ‘90s when he founded his namesake label -- which itself is part of the COMME des GARÇONS house. While his first collection was unveiled in Paris back in 1993 it wasn’t until 2007 that Watanabe, notoriously individualistic and disdainful of mainstream advertising, formed his first collaboration with Converse to create a set of All Star sneakers. This year has seen the masterful Japanese designer link up with iconic brands such as Lacoste to create a pair of T-shirts; Carhartt for his S/S 2017 collection; Seil Marschall for a slick backpack design; and most notably with The North Face x Carhartt x Levi for his highly anticipated F/W 2017 collection.
