Hypebeast celebrates Pokémon TCG's 25th anniversary with collaboration and pop-up events

Hypebeast celebrates Pokémon Trading Card Game’s 25th anniversary with an exciting activation in Hong Kong. Tapping into the trading card game’s rich history, this celebratory pop-up harnesses the hobby’s ubiquitous global influence for a special release of collaborative apparel, lifestyle items, and of course, Pokémon TCG packs.

This partnership highlights nostalgic elements of the Pokémon TCG and features Charizard — the Fire-type Pokémon that needs no introduction. Inspired by the design elements of Pokémon during the ‘90s, Hypebeast’s collaborative collection stars Charizard amongst iconic Pokémon TCG graphics for co-branded takes on T-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies done with special holofoil packaging. Accessories include caps, bandanas, cushions, rugs, phone cases, mugs and stickers. For those looking to get in on more of the TCG aspect of the celebration, Pokémon TCG booster packs in Traditional Chinese and Japanese exclusive to respective regions will be available. Booster packs can either be purchased individually, or in T-shirt bundle sets, with the T-shirt randomly distributed in white, grey, black, or a rare black holofoil colorway.

The celebration will take place in Hong Kong from October 20 to November 21, with two pop-up events marking the occasion. The first one will take place on the bottom floor of Sino Centre, Mong Kok — a popular gaming and manga/anime hub — where selected items will be showcased and sold in limited quantities over a two-day period. The second pop-up will be located at BELOWGROUND Landmark, Central. This location features an interactive space open for one month, where Pokémon fans, cultural insiders and VIPs can gather and view the full collection on display. For those looking to celebrate with Hypebeast outside of Hong Kong, the collection will also be available on hbx.com on October 22, 1pm HKT. Stay tuned to Hypebeast’s website and Instagram for further updates.
