If you’re looking to up your shopping game, Manchester has you covered. The Rainy City has flooded its gates with up-and-coming streetwear and sneaker stores, offering everything from curated vintage to fresh weekly drops.

For decades, Bionic Seven and Bags of Flavor have been providing 0161 with the most exclusive vintage garments, including mini-Swoosh track jackets, real tree co-ords, and plenty more.

Meanwhile, other independently-run stores such as Suzy Loves Milo have continued to operate as one of the city’s best-kept secrets, as its Montbell jackets and Stüssy x Nike gems rain running the streets up north.

Junior Clint’s self-launched imprint has also opened its flagship store in Manneh, establishing itself as the go-to spot for shoppers to get their hands on unreleased Clints garms before they hit general release.

For the sneakerheads in town, Kersh Kicks has firmly established itself in the heart of the Northern Quarter, stocking everything from LORENZ.OG customs to Travis Scott collaborations and more.

Read on to discover some of the best Mancunian streetwear spots you should visit during your next trip to Manchester.

This Thing of Ours

This Thing of Ours is one of Manchester’s latest and greatest stores. Located in the ever-evolving Hatch area of the city, the IRL shop and website is a brand that stays true to its Mancunian roots, providing garments that are certified staples of Manc uniform. Offering gear from a slew of outdoor brands such as Haglofs and Lake District bag-makers, Aiguille Alpine, This Thing of Ours also operates by a strict IYKYK attitude – and it works.

The store’s founder, Tim McTavish, has branded his business with a unique niche that combines exploration gear with ‘80s and ‘90s hip-hop aesthetics – seen in both the clothes and the music that rings throughout the establishment. Influences from Americana and Ivy League sportswear can also be seen throughout, providing graphic-heavy styles that can be easily mixed and matched with the melange of everyday basics that are stocked in store. – Jack Lynch, Editor.

Bionic Seven

Bionic Seven is one of Manchester’s most historic shopping destinations. Opened by Nick Rhodes and fellow clothing obsessive, Imran Kazmi, almost 20 years ago, the pair originally set up shop in the 0161’s historic Afflecks Arcade, before they settled in their current location in the heart of the Northern Quarter in 2012.

Stocking everything from premium vintage picks – including The North Face, Carhartt, and adidas – to real-tree camo and mini Swoosh track jackets, the store is cozy, but has more than enough space for shoppers to get lost in a timeline of garments that span over decades. While the store is located in one of the most popular locations in the Rainy City, the slew of caffs in the area further complements Bionic Seven as one of the most accessible spots in the city. – Jack Lynch, Editor.

Kersh Kicks

Kersh Kicks is a hub for streetwear and footwear gems, blessing the heart of Manchester with mint-condition trainers — including sold-out collaborations. Kersh Kicks embraces its local community by providing friendly shopping experiences. Whether you’re a diehard sneakerhead or are looking to invest in a sought-after grail, Kersh Kicks is the place to be.

Kersh Kicks stocks brand-new trainer and streetwear releases on the daily, dropping fresh Travis Scott x Nike releases alongside the latest Air Jordans, Nike SBs, Yeezys, and more. In the apparel department, you’ll find pristine KAWS tees, Supreme box logos, and graphic-heavy Corteiz pieces ready to be paired with your on-foot purchase. – Andrea Sacal, Associate Editor.

Streetwear Studio

Opening its doors during the COVID-19 pandemic, Streetwear Studio operates on a buy-sell-trade model to allow customers to get their hands on anything they desire while giving their cherished goods a new life.

Streetwear Studio has cemented itself deep inside Manchester’s fashion scene, packing the streets with unmatched heat across daily vintage delivers. From old-school Liverpool FC jerseys to Nike check fleeces and insulating Moncler outerwear, Streetwear Studio houses over 1,000 new vintage items monthly. – Andrea Sacal, Associate Editor.

Gone Fishing Vintage

As one of Manchester’s most popular vintage hotspots, Gone Fishing Vintage specializes in Italian designer goods sourced across the pond. While looking to scavenge the best vintage items in existence, Gone Fishing Vintage upholds premium standards with its hand-picked selection process.

The highly-rated storefront celebrates the UK’s love for Stone Island with an expansive selection of badged outerwear, stocking anything from 2005 inside-out T-shirts to puffed metal puffers and cargo pants from decades past. Stüssy, Fendi, and Burberry are included in its catalog, while re-edition Helmut Lang and old-school Gucci tracksuits sell out in minutes. – Andrea Sacal, Associate Editor.

Suzy Loves Milo

Hidden deep inside Manchester’s Northern Quarter, Suzy Loves Milo is one of the best in the game. The independent retailer has its heart set on vintage, sourcing premium streetwear treasures from Stüssy, Bape, Supreme, Nike, and many more.

Suzy Loves Milo one-of-one vintage clothing ranging from detailed outerwear, to unique homeware, and summer-ready accessories. The curated storefront provides an intimate shopping experience grounded in originality, allowing local Mancunians to take home their next grail. – Andrea Sacal, Associate Editor.

Clints

Since its inception in 2020, Manchester-based streetwear brand Clints is now a city staple.. Launched by Junior Clint as a footwear brand, the label quickly turned its attention to apparel, with the carefully-constructed styles swiftly securing Clints status as one of the UK’s most exciting brands.

Much like Clints’ popularity online and on social media, the brand’s recently opened flagship store – located on Quay Street – has become one of Manchester’s hottest shopping destinations. Stocking Clints’ latest garment collections and sneakers before online release, IRL shoppers can also get their hands on previously-dropped styles, including everything from durable tracksuits and knitwear to the brand’s clean-cut Stepper, Stomper, KITA and OASIS sneakers. – Jack Lynch, Editor.

Bags of Flavor

Located on the Northern Quarter’s Tib Street, Bags of Flavour (which is purposely spelled in the American way) has been operating in the center of Manchester since 2009. The vintage boutique is a must-visit for those making their way around the Rainy City – especially for those with an interest in ‘70s and ‘80s menswear. Stocking everything from vintage football shirts and sports jackets to upcycled Burberry bags, Bags of Flavor visitors are welcomed into a time capsule that’s kept its old-school feel amidst the future-facing evolution of Manchester as one of the UK’s most popular cities. – Jack Lynch, Editor.
