Casio's ”Sky and Sea” Line Reimagines 5 of Its Classic Watches for the Summer
Commemorating its 50th anniversary, Casio updated the timepieces with blue and gold accents.
Casio has a new lineup of watches fit for the upcoming summer months. The brand has unveiled five new “Sky and Sea” models, each of which incorporates accents of blue and gold to reflect the natural elements.
Each of the five watches comes courtesy of a popular model from a different Casio line. The Casiotron TRN-50SS was inspired by the first wristwatch Casio ever put out, the Casiotron QW02. Updated with radio wave reception and solar charging, the watch subtly contains a gold tri-fold clasp that boasts the triangle motif featured in the original model.
The G-SHOCK GMW-B5000SS, meanwhile, reimagines the blocky GMW-B5000 in a fully metal design, along with a thick blue band – and a thinner gold ring – encircling the face of the watch. The slimmer BABY-G BGA-S290SS arrives from the women’s BABY-G series and its rounded BGA-290. A dark blue dial is striking against a white bezel and band and the model has been updated with “tough solar charging,” which can turn any light source, natural or artificial, into energy.
For those who prefer a more elaborate face, the EDIFICE ECB-2000SS is a chronograph based on the ECB-2000, doubling as both a wristwatch and a stopwatch. Rounding out the lineup is a model for the more outdoorsy users, the PRO TREK PRW-61SS. Modeled after the PRW-61, the rugged watch uses ecological materials and contains a fire-resistant band.
Casio’s “Sky and Sea” models arrive as part of the brand’s ongoing 50th-anniversary releases, so stay tuned for future unveilings and drops.
