Scottish designer Charles Jeffrey is never afraid to run wild. His whimsical and fun nature is grounded in a theatrical framework that never takes itself too seriously. For Fall/Winter 2024, Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY does just that and opens a dramatic play titled “THE CURIOUS CASE OF MOSHKIRK & BOONESS.”

The playful collection is hunted by monstrous creatures inspired by scrap paper found in Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY’s headquarters. Sent in by an 18-year-old fanatic, he detailed his life in Scotland’s lost Moshkirk village. LOVERBOY’s FW24 range reflects Moshkirk’s rebellious inhabitants, telling the story of its pioneering fashion movement in 1979. Punk and disco ruled the streets ahead of Margaret Thatcher’s conservative reign, seeing Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY look to the joyous times experienced in Moshkirk.

The 37-look collection is packed with rage and chaos, opening with oversized tailoring embellished with handmade patchwork panels. Tartan puffers and strong-shouldered coats follow while the brand’s signature animal ears nurture hoodies and beanies. Bleached denim jackets and animal-printed anoraks ooze with defiance, seeing rebellious band tees, shredded knitwear, and peeled banana boots complete the collection on humorous notes.
