After bringing back the Marinemaster collection, Seiko has recently also unveiled two additions to its Speedtimer lineup. The release sees a duo of Speedtimer Mechanical Chronographs, one of which is a standard edition, while the other is a special 100th Anniversary Limited Edition.

In terms of design, the new Speedtimer references draw cues from its heritage model from the 1970s but are improved and elevated for more modern sporty aesthetics. Outfitted in a sleek, 42mm stainless steel flow-shaped case, the timepiece is accompanied by a matching multi-row metal bracelet. Featuring an easy-to-read panda-style dial, both versions of the watch are equipped with three recessed subdials that are punctuated with orange highlights.

On a technical note, the new Speedtimer time-tellers are powered by Seiko’s very own 8R38 mechanical caliber. Boasting slimmer and more compact dimensions than its preceding movement, the 8R38 is capable of running continuously for up to 45 hours.

Available in a limited run of 1,000 examples, the 100th Anniversary edition stars a blue-gray dial plate with silver-white subdials and has a price point of £2,500 GBP. Meanwhile, the standard edition retails for £2,350 GBP and features a silver-white base with blue-gray subdials. Both timepieces will be available via Seiko’s official online store as well as select boutiques worldwide at the start of December.
