VAINL ARCHIVE の大北幸平が手掛ける Reebok eightyone がラストコレクションを発表

2020年に〈Reebok（リーボック）〉が〈VAINL ARCHIVE（ヴァイナル アーカイブ）〉のデザイナー 大北幸平を招聘して立ち上げた“Reebok eightyone（リーボック エイティーワン）”。2020年春夏シーズンからこれまで3度にわたってコレクションが展開されてきたが、2021年秋冬シーズンをもって終了することが発表。それと同時にラストコレクションが11月12日（金）にリリースされることがアナウンスされた。

日本の国番号である“+81”からブランド名を名付け、〈Reebok〉のスポーツブランドというアイデンティティに〈VAINL ARCHIVE〉らしい生地/シルエット/カラートーンを掛け合わせることで、東京の空気感とストリートのエッセンスが絶妙なバランスで共存する唯一無二のコレクションを展開してきた“Reebok eightyone”。両者が綴る最終章は、これからの季節に最適なフリースジャケット、パデッドジャケット、ハーフジップフーディ、ロングスリーブTシャツなどをラインアップするのだが、なんといっても注目は迷彩柄のウーブンジャケットとパンツのセットアップだ。迷彩柄は通称ナイトカモフラージュと呼ばれる対暗視装置用に作られたDesert Night Camouflage（DNC、デザートナイトカモフラージュ）が落とし込まれているのだが、これはDNCと大北氏が同じ年に誕生していたこと、そしてピクセルのシンプルな柄のバランスが大北氏が青春を過ごした1990年代の都会的なイメージとリンクしたという理由から採用されているという。また、“Reebok eightyone”でおなじみのスニーカーは、1985年に発売されたレトロランニングスニーカー GL 6000をベースとした1足を用意。オリジナルのシルエットに忠実ながらカラーリングの妙で〈VAINL ARCHIVE〉らしさが表現されており、チョークホワイトとカーキの2カラーが控えているとのこと。

“Reebok eightyone”のラストコレクションの価格は7,689〜16,500円（税込）で、先述の通り11月12日（金）にリリース。〈Reebok〉の公式オンラインストアや『リーボックストア 渋谷』、ギャラリー兼ショップの『SALT AND PEPPER』などで取り扱われるが、GL 6000のみ後日発売となるそうなのでご注意を。なお、今回もイメージビジュアルは大北氏と親交の深い写真家・小浪次郎が撮影しているので、狙っている方は上のフォトギャラリーから必ず目を通しておこう。
