SpaceX ha già depositato presso la FCC progetti per una costellazione fino a un milione di satelliti che funzionerebbero come data center orbitali, sfruttando un’esposizione solare quasi costante per alimentare i modelli di nuova generazione. In un memo pubblicato sul sito di SpaceX, Musk descrive il gruppo risultante come “il motore d’innovazione più ambizioso e integrato verticalmente sulla Terra (e oltre)” e immagina un futuro in cui l’AI spaziale sostiene tutto, dai feed social alle missioni verso Marte. Per investitori e regolatori, l’accordo cristallizza il playbook di Musk: sfumare i confini tra le sue società, mettere in comune capitali e dati e puntare sul fatto che il mercato comprerà un’unica, grandiosa narrativa in scala sci-fi fatta di razzi, robot e corsa all’intelligenza artificiale.
