Primetime Emmy Awards 2026: Alle Nominierten im Überblick

Die Television Academy hat ihre Nominierungen für die 78. Primetime Emmy Awards bekannt gegeben und damit den Startschuss für eines der spannendsten Rennen der jüngeren Vergangenheit gegeben. HBO Max’ The Pitt führte mit 25 Nominierungen alle Programme an – darunter Outstanding Drama Series und Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series für Noah Wyle –, während Hacks in seiner fünften und finalen Staffel mit 24 Nominierungen Geschichte schrieb und damit den bisherigen Comedy-Rekord von 23 Nominierungen übertraf, den The Bear im Jahr 2024 aufgestellt und von The Studio im Jahr 2025 eingestellt hatte.

Apple TV legte sowohl in den Drama- als auch in den Comedy-Kategorien einen absoluten Vorzeigeauftritt hin. Die neue Horror-Comedy Widow’s Bay, mit Matthew Rhys als Bürgermeister einer Insel, die von übernatürlichen Phänomenen heimgesucht wird, holte sich 19 Nominierungen und führt damit alle neuen Serien an. Ebenfalls neu bei Apple: Pluribus, ein dystopisches Sci-Fi-Drama mit Rhea Seehorn in der Hauptrolle, folgte mit 18 Nominierungen. Auf der Limited-Series-Seite kam die zweite Staffel von Netflix’ BEEF auf 16 Nominierungen, während HBO Max’ DTF St. Louis 13 Nominierungen einstrich.

Rhys avancierte zu einer der größten Schlagzeilen des Morgens: Er ist doppelt vertreten – mit einer Lead-Actor-Nominierung in der Comedy-Kategorie für Widow’s Bay und einer zweiten Nominierung im Limited-Series-Bereich für The Beast in Me. Ähnlich präsent ist Jason Bateman, der sowohl für DTF St. Louis als auch für Black Rabbit. Im Rennen um die beste Hauptdarstellerin in einer Comedy liefern sich Lisa Kudrow und Jean Smart ein Kopf-an-Kopf-Duell – sie stehen für die finalen Staffeln von The Comeback und Hacks. Unterdessen wurde in den Drama-Kategorien Euphoria nach einer polarisierenden Finalstaffel komplett aus der Kategorie Outstanding Drama Series herausgehalten, holte aber dennoch Schauspiel-Nominierungen für Zendaya und Colman Domingo.

Die Verleihung wartet außerdem mit einer neu strukturierten Kategorie Outstanding Variety Series auf. Nachdem die Television Academy gescriptete Variety-Formate und Talkshows zu einem gemeinsamen Feld zusammengelegt hat, fungiert die Kategorie nun als „Area“-Award: Jeder Beitrag, der eine 90-prozentige Zustimmung der Wählerinnen und Wähler erreicht, erhält eine Statuette – Mehrfachsieger inklusive. The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, die im Mai mit einem hochkarätig besetzten Serienfinale zu Ende ging, tritt in dieser Kategorie neben Saturday Night Live, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver, The Daily Show und Jimmy Kimmel Live! an.

Insgesamt wurden in diesem Jahr 555 Programme in den 14 wichtigsten Programmkategorien eingereicht – ein Rückgang gegenüber 600 Einreichungen im Vorjahr. Law & Order: SVU‑Star Mariska Hargitay wird durch den Abend führen, wenn die Show am Montag, den 14. September, live ausgestrahlt wird – sie ist damit die erste Frau seit 15 Jahren, die die Emmys moderiert.
