Insta360 has just released its tiniest ever 4K camera – the Insta360 GO 3S.

Best known for its 360º action cameras, the brand has continued to evolve its popular GO series of tiny cameras over the years and most recently released the GO 3 in black. While the the GO 3 boasted an already impressive 2.7K resolution for such a small camera, the updated GO 3S has kept the same thumb-sized form factor found in the previous model and increased the maximum video resolution to 4K, opening up new possibilities for content creators, athletes, and just about anybody feeling creative (pet’s too, check out this cool Shiba Inu).

The Insta360 GO 3S has improved on the previous model with a new ‘Interval Video’ mode that allows completely automatic, hands-free use. There’s also the new MegaView field of view mode that provides straighter lines and less distortion in wide shots, creating a more realistic looking video. HDR on the GO 3S has been increased, too, with improved Dolby Vision-Ready that delivers better detailing across different dynamic ranges. And, for those looking to slow life down, slow motion on the new GO 3S has been bettered and users can now shoot 200fps at 1080p, or 100fps at 2.7K.

As expected, the GO 3S is waterproof, but can now sink to more than double the previous versions range (33ft compared to 16ft). It weighs an almost negligible 1.4oz (39g), making it perfect for all types of sport from cycling to surfing, taking up minimal real estate on your bike or board.

Additional upgrades include the introduction of Apple Find My, an invaluable new feature that will allow iPhone users to locate their camera in the event they lose it. AI advancements have also made it onto this new device, with gesture controls available to “start” and “stop” shooting – this should come in handy if the camera’s mounted somewhere out of reach, but still within sight.

The Insta360 GO 3S is available now via the brand’s website. It comes in two colors, ‘Arctic White’ and ‘Midnight Black’, with prices starting at £349.99 GBP / $399.99 USD.
