Burberry and 'Minecraft' Join Forces For a Digital-Meets-IRL Collaboration
All will be revealed on November 1.
With millions of players around the globe, Minecraft has become a cornerstone of the contemporary gaming landscape — and now, the luxury British house Burberry wants its turn. Announced today, Burberry and Minecraft are coming together on a multifaceted collaboration, centered around a customized in-game adventure titled Burberry: Freedom to Go Beyond.
Here, players will be able to explore Burberry’s unique universe (expect a heavy array of Nova Check prints in its most pixelated form and Thomas Burberry monograms), sitting alongside 15 downloadable skins based on “fashion, fantasy, and adventure.”
In addition to gameplay, the collaborative duo has come together on something all of us can enjoy IRL — a clothing capsule collection. Yet to be revealed, it’s safe to assume the collection will combine Burberry’s house cues with Mincraft‘s penchant for bricks, blocks, and 8-bit graphics.
Burberry: Freedom to Go Beyond launches on November 1, while Burberry subscribers will be able to access everything from October 31. Be sure to keep an eye out for the IRL collection launch, too, which comes to select stores in Spring Street, New York; Shenzhen Bay, China; Regent Street, London; Omotesando, Tokyo; Cheongdam-dong Seoul, Korea; Taipei 101, Taiwan Area, China; and Siam Paragon, Thailand. More can be found online, and stay tuned to Hypebeast for more information as news unfolds.
In case you missed it, OAMC has released its FW22 campaign.
