Venerdì scorso fakemink è salito sulla Gobi Stage del Coachella per il suo attesissimo debutto in un festival negli Stati Uniti. Mentre si prepara alla performance del secondo weekend, tra pochissime ore, mink ha pubblicato sulle piattaforme di streaming un nuovo singolo in studio, intitolato “Night, Blooming Jasmine.”, uno dei brani inediti che aveva inserito in scaletta la scorsa settimana.

Caratterizzato da un ritornello contagioso – “Ayy, night, bloom Jasmine, second name Yasmin / Th-they wanna eat me alive, can’t stop them / Killing Charles Manson, ringing for ransom / Th-they tryna cut my hair, I’m Samson” – il brano è il classico pezzo in puro stile mink, con produzione sparata al massimo, synth in sottofondo e la sua voce in registro più alto.

Nel set del primo weekend, il brano è arrivato tra “Young Millionaire” e “LV Sandals”. Un sample di Cindy Lauper (“Time After Time”) ha preceduto il debutto di “Night, Blooming Jasmine.”, con il classico che sfumava lentamente nel nuovo pezzo di mink.

Ha aperto il set con “Easter Pink” prima di passare a “Look at Me”, “MAKKA”, “Fidelio”, “Kill Everything” e “Music and Me”. Poco prima della premiere ufficiale del video, “Blow the Speaker” ha fatto da traccia di chiusura.

Con ogni probabilità, “Night, Blooming Jasmine” comparirà nella The Boy Who Cried Terrified tracklist, ma su questo non è ancora arrivata alcuna conferma ufficiale. Allo stesso modo, non è stata ancora annunciata una data di uscita per l’album.
