TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) ha presentato ufficialmente due modelli di punta rivoluzionari, la GR GT e la sua variante da competizione in specifica FIA GT3, la GR GT3. Queste supercar gemelle incarnano la filosofia TGR di creare “ever-better motorsports-bred cars”, proseguendo la stirpe di leggende come la Toyota 2000GT e la Lexus LFA.

Al cuore di entrambe le vetture pulsa il nuovo motore V8 biturbo da 4,0 litri, un propulsore che eroga una potenza massima di 650 CV (641 hp) e oltre 850 Nm di coppia. A questa forza impressionante si abbina un’architettura d’avanguardia: la GR GT sfoggia il primo telaio con struttura interamente in alluminio di Toyota, pensato per coniugare elevata rigidità e leggerezza e contribuire a un bilanciamento ottimale dei pesi 45:55 tra avantreno e retrotreno.

Lo sviluppo ha seguito un collaborativo “one-team approach”, guidato dal Master Driver Akio Toyoda (Morizo), che ha lavorato fianco a fianco con piloti professionisti e ingegneri. L’obiettivo centrale era raggiungere tre elementi chiave: peso ridotto, baricentro il più basso possibile e aerodinamica ottimale.

La GR GT è stata concepita come una race car omologata per l’uso stradale, mentre la GR GT3 ne è la sorella senza compromessi, pensata per chi pretende performance da vittoria nella massima categoria del customer motorsport. Entrambi i modelli sono il frutto del passaggio di competenze fondamentali nella costruzione di auto dai veterani alle nuove generazioni, così che la “secret sauce” prestazionale del brand continui a vivere nel futuro. Le due ammiraglie sono previste al lancio intorno al 2027.
