金氏世界紀錄認證！科學家於日本 8,336 公尺深海發現最深生物「蝸牛魚」
如鬼魅般的深海魚類「蝸牛魚」。
近日，由澳洲與日本組成研究團隊成功在日本南部伊豆小笠原海溝 8,336 公尺處發現最深生物「蝸牛魚 Snailfish」，打破先前於馬里亞納海溝水下 8,178 公尺的發現紀錄，此紀錄現已獲金氏世界紀錄認證。
本次捕捉到的鍋牛魚為 Pseudoliparis 屬的一種，為幼年鍋牛魚，據了解幼年鍋牛魚往往比成年鍋牛魚還喜歡待在深海，能看到其半透明的身軀游動的身影，西澳大學教授兼探險隊首席科學家 Alan Jamieson 表示團隊已花費超過 15 年來研究這些深海鍋牛魚，此發現意味著生物能在深海生存的最新極限，也驗證了過去研究指出鍋牛魚能在 8,200-8,400 公尺的深海中生存的推論。
